The priest at my parish sent this to me, so I thought I'd pass it along.
Once upon a time there was a young couple. They were madly in love with each other, and were to be married in 5 days. As they were out running their errands one day, they got into a terrible car accident and sadly they both died. They apperead in heavan and asked the angel at the gates, "Is there any way we could get married in heaven?". The angel replied, "Well, I can't answer that question. I'll take you to God and you can ask him". They followed the angel until they were standing in front of God. The young man explained their situation, and asked, "Lord, is there any way we could get married in heaven?" God sat for a moment, pondering the request, and said, "Come back in 5 years, and ask me again."
Five years passed, and the couple came back to God, even more madly in love than before. Again the young man asked, "Lord, will you allow us to get married in heaven?" Again, God replied, "Wait another 5 years, then come back and ask me again."
Five more years passed, and the couple returned to God, their hearts overfilled with love for each other. "God, have you an answer for us?". God replied, "Of course you may be married!" So the couple got married and were extremely happy.
Unfortunately, the couple appeared in front of God again, several years later. "Lord, things aren't going to well for us. We would like to get a divorce." Suddenly the ground started to tremble, and the sky turned dark! God stared down at the couple, and said "A DIVORCE!!!!! IT TOOK ME TEN YEARS TO FIND A PRIEST IN HEAVEN!!!! HOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT WILL TAKE TO FIND AN ATTORNEY???!!!!!!!!!!":p
